ROUND ONE
FALCON PRO 2012
NORTH LONDON
Sunday 29th January saw 13 racers arrive for Round One of the series.
This year qualifying has changed, with racers qualifying for race position in the first class, 1/32 sports and then taking their finish position in 1/32 sports to define their heat start position in 1/32 F1 and their F1 finish position to define their heat starts in Falcon Pro 1/24.
Race control was mastered by Ian Fisher with assistance from Paul and Greg Harwood and Chris Musto, ensuring and easy flow for the racing and an early finish to enable those who had travelled long distances an easier ride home.
As expected many of the top places were taken by Home racers on this short, technical track, with Ian Fisher making a great showing in all classes and Paul & Greg showing their home knowledge to good effect. Martin Ellis took F1 by storm with a car which looked super smooth and almost glued to the slot. The away racers worked hard through the various races to climb into higher heats in what was a highly competitive field.
Many thanks go to John Ovens for keeping racers fed and watered during the day and to those who helped to make the day happen, including the racers who made the effort to compete.
A tough and competitive days racing!
Photos of the event will be put up in the next few days.
This year we are asking all of the competing racers to give us feedback on their personal perceptions of the event in regard to the racing, organisation, the venues etc. so we can ensure the best possible racing experience in the future. Please feel free to email us by clicking here and give us your honest opinions!
